Guyana – The Berbice Cricket Board will later this week sign an agreement with West Indies player Shimron Hetmyer to set up the Shimron Hetmyer Berbice Cricket Development Fund.

The three-year contract would involve GYD700,000 for purchasing cricket balls to donate to clubs across Berbice, and GYD200,000 for a University of Guyana scholarship for a cricketer living in the Canje/New Amsterdam/East Bank-Berbice area.

Additionally, from 2022, the fund would pay the cost of CSEC for two students from the Berbice High School.

BCB said Hetmyer and his family have been generous to the Board and have already committed to sponsoring three tournaments at the cost of GYD500,000.

The Berbice Cricket Board has thanked Hetmyer and his family for their massive investment in Berbice Cricket.
