Antigua and Barbuda and Saudi Arabia commit to deepen ties

Antigua and Barbuda, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have committed to
strengthen the existing ties between the two countries.
The pledges came during bilateral discussions held at the margins of the 46th
Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads to Government of the Caribbean
Community, now taking place in Guyana.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne engaged in dialogue with His Excellency Adel Al-
Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy surrounding
opportunities for trade and investment between both countries. The Prime Minister
thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support given towards the expansion
of the University of the West Indies, Five Island Campus. He further endeavoured
to strengthening relations between both nations, while mentioning that Saudi
Arabia has shown global leadership based on mutual respect and shared values.
Minister Al-Jubeir also praised Prime Minister Browne’s leadership on the global
stage, and pledged Saudi Arabia’s support for the existing partnership between the
two countries, with a vision for mutual investment opportunities to benefit both
societies.
Both parties also discussed support and contributions towards SIDS4 which would
greatly contribute to SIDS countries achieving the UN Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs).
