Wooden structure destroyed by fire on Saturday

A wooden structure, occupied by Dominga Delen and her family at Gordon Street,
Villa, was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin on Saturday afternoon.
Inspector Lester Bagot reported that on Saturday 12th August 2023 at 5:52 pm the
St John's fire station received a call stating that there was a fire at Gordon Street,
Villa.
“An immediate response was made, in Number 10 and Number 15 fire tenders. On
arrival at the scene, the fire crew met a wooden structure fully engulfed in fire.
Water was used from the fire tenders to control and extinguish the fire. The size of
the house was 21 feet × 38 feet,” according to Insp. Bagot.
The house along with its contents was destroyed. The fire brigade is investigating
the cause of the fire.
Insp. Bagot also reported that there were no injuries as a result of the fire. It was
the 275 th fire call for the year.
