Tindale Road residents were alerted of a tragedy in their community on Saturday night when the lifeless body of a young immigrant was discovered.
The Jamaican woman, who has been identified as Tasheika Latoya Davis, was found dead in her home at about 9:15pm.
Sources say the deceased woman was an employee of Cheetahs Night Club on Joseph Lane.
Davis’ employer became concerned and visited her home on Saturday evening to check on her whereabouts after she failed to report to work and did not make contact.
When she arrived at Davis’ home and gained entry, the Jamaican’s lifeless, partially dressed body was discovered lying face up.
Witnesses say she was foaming at the mouth and fluid was draining from her nose when she was discovered.
It is not known if she suffered from any medical conditions.
Her body was removed by a St. John’s funeral home after she was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
An investigation has been launched into the death of the 23-year-old, however, police communications boss, Inspector Frankie Thomas, has said at this point, there is no indication foul play was involved in her death.
An autopsy will likely be conducted to determine her cause of death.
