Delon Charlery is accused of firing the fatal gunshot to the head of the Golden Grove mother.

After more than one year, Magistrate Conliffe Clarke concluded that the police had gathered sufficient evidence against the St. Lucian man for him to finally answer the accusation that he murdered his girlfriend in her home.

Since his arrest days after Benjamin’s lifeless body was discovered on 22nd November last year, Charlery has been detained at His Majesty’s Prison.

A statement from the Customs and Excise following Benjamin’s murder said her demise was “purely a domestic matter” and unrelated to the untimely deaths of three other Customs officers which preceded hers that rose questions about whether the division’s officers were being targeted for attack.
