One of the most successful indigenous companies – State Insurance Company Ltd. (SIC) – is celebrating 46 years of service to the people of Antigua and Barbuda this week.

Under the theme New Beginnings, State Insurance is looking to the future with its eyes on solidifying its gains in the local market as it prepares to explore opportunities to expand its operations in the region.

Public Relations Officer, Dornalyn Beazer, said the company has a mandate to expand its operations into the regional markets. She added that the company’s executives are working assiduously to make this a reality.

State Insurance Company Ltd. has two branches on Antigua; the main office at Redcliffe Street and a satellite branch at South Mall in Ebenezer, and in May 2022, a branch was opened on Barbuda.

“We’re a solid organisation doing well here in our current operations.

“We came through the difficult times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and we are doing even better than before the pandemic.

“Our long term plans are to see this company with branches in other islands and that is one of our primary objectives. That’s one of the reasons why we established a company instead of continuing as a corporation as this move will facilitate the regional thrust,” Beazer explained.

As part of its New Beginnings, SIC named a new Chief Executive Officer, Aarion Nicholas, last March.

The 46th anniversary is being celebrated with a week of activities that includes Customer Appreciation Day today and a social for the staff on Saturday.

Next Thursday and Friday, a team will travel to Barbuda to engage in celebrations there.
