Starz 1 consolidated their second-place position in the women’s Division 1 standings of the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association’s (ABAVA) Local League on Saturday evening.

Starz 1 came from behind to record their sixth win in eight encounters by clinching a 3-2 victory against Jets in their encounter at the indoor stadium at the YMCA Sports Complex.

Starz 1 prevailed 19-25, 25-21, 21-25, 27-25, and 15-10 against the Jets, who remain in fourth place after crashing to their sixth loss in nine games.

Theatric Lighting & Stage Effect and JOMA Caribbean Stoneville have advanced to third place in the women’s Division 1 standings.

Stoneville claimed their fourth win in eight matches by snatching a 3-2 victory against former champions Paragons in their encounter.

Stoneville took two hours and five minutes to prevail 25-14, 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, and 15-11 against the Paragons women, who slipped to second from the bottom of the standings in the six-team round-robin competition after suffering their fifth defeat in eight games.

Invaders consolidated their fifth-place position in the Men’s Division 1 League with a 3-1 victory against Phoenix High Flyerz. Invaders claimed their third win in nine games by prevailing 25-17, 25-21, 24-26, and 25-23 against the Phoenix High Flyerz in two hours and one minute.

The Phoenix High Flyerz remain winless and in the cellar of the seven-team round-robin competition after suffering their ninth defeat in as many games.

However, Saturday’s game between reigning Men’s Division 1 champion Theatric Lighting & Stage Effect and JOMA Caribbean Stoneville and Vernon G. Edwards High Flyerz was postponed due to stormy weather conditions.
