The 33-year-old Briggins man who was nursing gunshot wounds at the Sir Lester
Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) has been released.
Chet Lewis was shot multiple times outside his Briggins home on August 21.
A gunman opened fire after calling him outside the residence.
Lewis was transported to SLBMC where he underwent treatment.
He had emergency surgery, and at one point had to use a breathing tube, but as the
days went by, his condition improved significantly, resulting in the tube being
removed and his eventual release from the hospital.
While Lewis' family and friends are elated about his quick recovery, several
questions remain about why this matter took place and who is responsible.
Investigations have been ongoing into the matter where several persons of interest
were questioned. However, no arrests have been made.
Police are still calling on persons in the public with information to come forward.
Meanwhile, a 58-year-old Bendals resident is nursing gunshot wounds at the Sir
Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC).
The Bendals man was shot in his shoulder in Yeptons at around 11 pm on Sunday.
He was in the company of a female when the incident occurred.
According to reports, an unidentified car pulled up alongside their vehicle,
prompting the Bendals resident to start his car in an attempt to leave. However, the
other vehicle reversed and blocked his path, leading to two gunshots being fired at
the car.
The shooter fled the scene, and the victim was met by police and Emergency
Medical Services on his way to the hospital.

He is now in stable condition.
Anyone with relevant information on either incident is being urged to contact the
Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913, or Crimestoppers at 800-
TIPS (8477).
