The establishment of a Public Accounts Committee, a requirement of the
Constitution of Antigua and Barbuda, has been completed by the House of
Representatives.
As required by the Constitution, the Leader of the Opposition, Jamale Pringle,
presides as the chairman of the committee. The other members are the
representatives for Barbuda, Trevor Walker, with the member for St. John’s City
East, Melford Nicholas, St. John’s Rural East, Maria Browne and St. John’s Rural
South, Daryll Matthew serving as well.
It is the prerogative of the chairman of the committee to call meetings as he sees fit
and to request from any government department records, files or any other
document deemed necessary to conduct the business of the committee.
