The police say they are making ‘good progress’ that will soon lead to an arrest in
the case where a 24-year-old man was shot dead on Sunday night.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Assistant Commissioner of
Police (ACP), Clifton Cabral, said the police investigation into the shooting has
identified someone they say is ‘a person of interest’ who they suspect may have
been the perpetrator of the crime.
ACP Cabral did not name the individual but he said the suspect is ‘well-known’ to
law enforcement and teams are currently on the ground in an all-out search for the
man.
“We received intelligence that he was staying in an apartment at a particular
location, but when we arrived, there he was nowhere to be fund. Our search
therefore continues.” he reported.
According to the CID head the shooting may have been motivation by revenge.
“Our information is that this shooting was a reprisal for another incident that
happened sometime in the past. We also learnt that the person of interest has
indicated that he will not turn himself in until he exacts revenge on another
individual,” he revealed.
That other individual is currently under close police scrutiny.
24-year-old Keiron ‘Cracker’ Hutson of Yorks was pronounced dead at the Sir
Lester Bird Medical Centre at approximately 8:30 pm on Sunday, roughly one hour
after he was shot by an assailant at a social gathering on Christian Street, Grays
Farm.
