The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) reports minor damage following the weekend’s winds and rains associated with the remnants of Dolly. In a media release, the agency noted a few downed electrical lines and trees, resulting in some road blockages and minor vehicular damage, particularly in New Winthropes and Barnes Hill. No flooding was reported.

According to the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service, up to 2.5 inches of rain fell between Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, NODS mentioned a 30 percent chance of rain overnight and the possibility of more showers later this week.

Residents in flood-prone areas are encouraged to monitor these locations closely. The agency reminds residents that this period is the middle of hurricane season, urging readiness. Emergency supplies should include canned and non-perishable foods, drinking water, a radio, flashlight, lamp, and other essentials. Homes should be secured with reinforced windows and doors.

Residents should stay informed through local media for weather updates, know the location of the nearest shelter, and look out for vulnerable family members, including those who are physically and mentally challenged and the elderly. The Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30.
