The government and people of Antigua and Barbuda will join hands on Sunday,
January 7, for a National Service of Thanksgiving that has now been
institutionalized by the Gaston Browne Administration.
The service takes place at the St. John’s Pentecostal Church House of Restoration
on Lauchland Benjamin Drive at Woods.
Under the theme, ‘Let everything that hath breadth Praise the Lord’, the service is
designed to start the New Year giving thanks to God for the many blessings he has
bestowed on the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
Governor General, Sir Rodney Williams will bring greetings to worshippers while
Prime Minister Gaston Browne will bring greetings as well as read the first passage
of scripture. An invitation was extended to the Leader of the Opposition, Jamale
Pringle to bring greetings followed by his reading of the second passage of
scripter.
Invitations have been sent to members of parliament in both houses, members of
the diplomatic corps, senior officials of government along with other officials.
Members of the public are also invited to attend the service which starts at 9:00
am. This is the 9 th consecutive year that this special service of thanksgiving is being
