The 14th to 25th March conference brings together government ministers, diplomats, civil society and gender advocates to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Since his arrival at the meeting, Minister Jonas delivered an to his international colleagues in which he advocated for action to advance women’s resilience and the prioritisation of climate change and disaster risk reduction.

He has also held bilateral discussions with his Irish counterpart, Roderick O’Gorman, in which they considered how Ireland can assist Antigua and Barbuda financially and technically in advancing gender equality. Matters related to the advancement of Antigua and Barbuda’s Blue Economy agenda, for which Minister Jonas also has portfolio responsibility, were also tabled during their talks.
