Antigua Agronomics, a company that operates in the medicinal cannabis space, has
continued its philanthropic work with its latest donation to health institutions in
Antigua and Barbuda.
In the latest donation, the company presented four barrels of foodstuff and adult-
care items for those warded at the Fiennes Institute.
On Friday, one of the directors of Antigua Agronomics, Dwight Iteba Henry along
with the attorney for the company, Damien Benjamin, made the formal handover
to the Master of the Fiennes Institute, Walton Edwards.
“On behalf of the representative, Steadroy Benjamin, and the people of St. John’s
City South, we are grateful that the company Antigua Agronomics has been able to
make another donation to an institution in the constituency, of food products and
adult incontinence products to the Fiennes Institute. We are extremely grateful for
Antigua Agronomics for being an outstanding corporate citizen,” the attorney
stated.
Master of Fiennes, Walton Edwards thanked the company for the donation, noting
that they arrived at a time when their resources were at a low ebb. “The donation of
these items will go a long way as it was made at a time when some things have
been in short supply. Already, we have a commitment from Antigua Agronomics
that there will be further donations in the future and we look forward to having a
long-term relationship with the company,” he remarked.
Henry, an Antiguan by birth, but who now resides in the UK, said he and his team
are motivated by a desire to give back to the society that nurtured him. “I grew up
in Antigua and for a long time I have seen companies come and take and not give
back, so I see this as a responsibility to my people to be patriotic and to give back
whenever and wherever I can,” Henry declared.
He disclosed that the company is nearing the start of the actual production of the
cannabis plant, from which it will extract the various ingredients that it will offer
for sale.
Antigua Agronomics is jointly owned by local and foreign interests.
