The newly created airline LIAT 2020…moves closer to commencing commercial
operation with the arrival today of two jet aircraft that will be added its fleet when
it takes to the skies.
The airline is currently awaiting its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and it has
already commenced demo-flights under the supervision of the Eastern Caribbean
Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA).
Now, the airline has announced the arrival of the first two E-145 jet aircrafts to
LIAT 2020 Limited. The two aircraft will receive a water cannon salute moments
after landing down at the VC Bird International Airport. This will be followed by a
ceremony that will take place at Terminal B (Old Terminal) this afternoon.
This event represents an important milestone for LIAT 2020 Limited as it embarks
on a new journey to be ranked king of the Caribbean skies.
Invitations have been sent to government officials, other stakeholders and the
media to attend the welcoming reception for the two aircraft and their crew.
“We look forward to your presence at this historic event as we celebrate this
momentous occasion and the bright future it promises,” the official invitation said.
