The Antigua and Barbuda Girl Guides’ fundraising efforts to secure the necessary
monies to attend the organization’s world conference, received a well-needed boost
with the presentation of a cheque for $5,000.00
The donation came from the Halo Foundation, the charitable organization of which
Sir Rodney and Lady Williams serve as patrons. “This donation goes towards the
local Girl Guides’ attendance at the 38th World Conference of the World
Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The meeting will take
place in Cyprus from July 26th – 31st and will address — among other
topics — financial challenges of the institution post-pandemic,” a media release
stated.
