The Prices and Consumer Affairs Division is advising consumers to cease using, and return recalled Fabuloso household cleaners to the place they were purchased for a refund.
The manufacturer, Colgate-Palmolive Company, indicated in the recall that the correct amount of preservative was not added to the affected batches of the popular disinfectant during the manufacturing process. This left the product at risk of bacterial overgrowth of Pseudomonas, a bacteria that is found in soil and water.
People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions who are exposed to the bacteria face the risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment.
The bacteria can enter the body through the eyes, a break in the skin or by inhalation.

The first 8 digits of the lot code of the recalled products are 2348US78 through 2365US78 and 3001US78 through 3023US78.
The lot code is located on the back of the bottle above the label either directly above or towards the top of the bottle.
It was noted that no Fabuloso antibacterial variants or other Fabuloso products are impacted by this recall.
