A diverse delegation represented Antigua and Barbuda at this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) in the United Kingdom.

The literature from WTM said that as many as £6 million worth of deals are negotiated over the course of the gathering of industry professionals who represent all sectors of the tourism trade.

The delegation included representatives from the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, the Antigua and Barbuda Hotel and Tourist Association, sports legends and local suppliers of goods and services to the tourism trade.

During the three days of the trade show, the Antiguan and Barbudan team participated in several showcase events where demonstrations were held to highlight products unique to Antigua and Barbuda.

This year, sports legends Sir Andy Roberts, Sir Richard “Richie” Richardson and Sir Curtly Ambrose played an integral role as they leveraged their iconic status in the UK to promote Antigua and Barbuda.

The cricketing icons were featured on the opening day of WTM.

Several business forums were held with the assistance of the Antigua and Barbuda High Commission in the UK including the Antiguaand Barbuda – United Kingdom Business and Tourism Forum 2022; an interactive session which provided local vendors with vital information on how to export their products to the UK.

The private sector attendees were Crispa Antigua, Miss Ellie Antigua, Shell Beach Seafood Company Ltd., the Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority, 2SIX8 Craft Brewery and Wendy Ephraim-Nicholas.
