Community activist in the St. Phillip area, Randy Baltimore, has launched an
initiative aimed at beautifying the Glanville Polyclinic that serves the area.
Baltimore who has been active donating electric fans as well as a host of
educational materials to schools in the area, has now turned his attention to the
polyclinic which also serves as a community centre.
With the help of well-known individuals from the area, he undertook a tree
planting exercise at the polyclinic. Among those planting trees at the event were
Parliamentary Representative, Sir Robin Yearwood, former Ombudsman, Sir
Hayden Thomas, and former top netball scorer and coach, Karen Joseph as well as
students from the Nelvie N Gore Primary School, Newfield Primary School,
Glanville Secondary School, and nurses from Glanville Polyclinic.
“This tree planting event at the Glanville Polyclinic/community center is an
initiative I have launched as part of my efforts to assist the area in whatever way
that I can. It is also an effort to contribute to the national effort to help combat
climate change,” Baltimore he told Point Express.
