Ambassador Josette Michael will be laid to rest today following an official funeral at the Holy Family Cathedral at Michael’s Mount.
The funeral service will begin at 1pm.
Following the funeral, she will be interred at the family’s plot at the St. John’s Public Cemetery.
The 81-year-old Ambassador-At-Large was the mother of veteran politician, Asot Michael.
A statement from the family said that she passed away peacefully on 30th October, 2022.
Following the announcement of her passing, the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda took the decision to extend the honour of an official funeral to Ambassador Machael’s family.
She was first appointed as an ambassador when Rt. Hon. Sir. Vere C. Bird Sr. led the country as prime minister. She held the appointment through successive administrations until the time of her death.
