There has been no word on the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl from Pigotts,
who has been reported missing by her family, since Saturday.
The police and the family of Summer Glo Lake of Piggotts are appealing to the
public for help in finding her.
The 13-year-old reportedly left her parent’s home on Saturday, August 5 sometime
after 8 pm to visit a relative in the village.
It was further reported that she subsequently left the home which she visited and
has not been seen or heard from since.
She was last seen wearing a pair of short black pants and a black blouse.
Up to Carnival Tuesday, the police reported that the 13-year-old had not returned
home. “I spoke with the parents and there are no signs or indications of where she
might be at this time. It is a serious concern, especially knowing that she has never
done this before. The officers at Parham Police Station have been assisting the
family and are in the process of interviewing other persons who may be able to
provide further assistance. We just want to encourage Summer to return home to
her parents. Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is asked to contact the
Parham Police Station at 463-2060,” stated police spokesman, Inspector Frankie
Thomas.
In another police matter, Inspector Thomas is also reporting that the Special
Victims Unit is investigating an alleged sexual offence that apparently occurred
over the weekend, at an event held at the stadium. The matter is being dealt with
per the Sexual Offences Act.
The police are further asking that the public be more responsible and empathetic
towards victims of these horrendous crimes.
Members of the public should exercise restraint and desist from making certain
comments that will do more harm than good.
Additionally, the police are currently investigating a few reports of wounding,
three of which stemmed from domestic disputes. One incident occurred around 10

am on J'Ouvert Morning which left a 15-year-old male of Ottos, nursing a stab
wound to his left arm. The wound is said not to be life-threatening. The alleged
perpetrator was taken into custody immediately after the incident.
The police launched several appeals before and during carnival asking members of
the public to exercise caution and avoid consuming too many alcoholic beverages.
These were aimed at reducing conflicts ending in physical injuries to anyone.
