The Sir Novelle Richards Academy in Potters continues to serve as a symbol of the close ties that currently exist between Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China.
Already, the SNRA is one of the schools where the main Chinese language, Mandarin is taught, and this week the Chinese Embassy held a handover ceremony for the donation of a traditional Chinese-style pavilion to institution. The event was attended by Ambassador Zhang Yanling and Listine Bradshaw, Principal of SNRA School, who together signed the handover certificate.
In her remarks, Ambassador Zhang expressed that the pavilion symbolizes China’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Antigua and Barbuda in the fields of education and culture. She emphasized that the Embassy hopes the pavilion will serve as a window for students to experience Chinese culture firsthand, while fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
Principal Bradshaw expressed sincere appreciation to the Chinese Embassy for the generous donation, noting that SNRA will continue to use Chinese language education as a bridge for cultural exchange and people-to-people ties between Antigua and Barbuda and China.
Both sides highlighted the importance of educational collaboration, cultural exchange, and shared development as vital pillars in strengthening relations between China and Antigua and Barbuda.
The traditional Chinese-style pavilion stands as a symbol of friendship, learning, and continued cooperation, inspiring students to explore the beauty of Chinese culture and the enduring partnership between both nations.
