One of the three accused in the shooting incident that left students and teachers
at the Ottos Comprehensive School traumatized has been remanded to His
Majesty’s Prison.
The 14-year-old Villa resident, the youngest of the three charged, appeared
before the Child Justice Board on a charge of shooting with intent to murder
following the February 14 incident at the YMCA Sports Complex.
According to reports, the three assailants, the 14-year-old boy, Jaheim
Mannix,18, and Ackeilo Bell, 19, reportedly fired shots into the complex while
the secondary school held its annual sports day activities, leaving students and
staff running for safety.
The event was then canceled and the students and faculty were transported back
to the school.
Mannix and Bell pleaded not guilty to discharging a gun in public during their
court appearance.
They are expected back in court sometime this week.
