Venezuelan Diplomat Bids Farewell

Tuesday 19th March, 2019-Venezuelan Ambassador Carlos Perez Silva’s diplomatic tenure has ended in Antigua and Barbuda with the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressing gratitude for the working relationship Venezuela and Antigua and Barbuda have shared since the 1980s.

During a farewell ceremony on Monday, Minister Paul ‘Chet’ Greene reflected on Venezuela’s response when Barbuda was devastated by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

The assistance from the South American nation is not only limited to humanitarian efforts, but also in the field of education, Minister Greene detailed.

In response, Ambassador Carlos Perez Silva describes his six years as his country’s diplomat in St. John’s as a rewarding experience.

The Venezuelan Ambassador’s next diplomatic posting will be in Trinidad and Tobago.
