The Ministry of Health, officially launched Vaccination Week of the Americas 2025 at its headquarters in St. John’s on Monday.
Minister of Health Molwyn Joseph was the featured speaker at the event. Also in attendance were the Minister of State, Senator Michael Joseph, Permanent Secretary with responsibility for Primary Healthcare, Stacey Gregg-Paige, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kamaria DeCastro, Acting Principal Nursing Officer, Clarissa Christopher, Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Manager, Soria Dupie, PAHO Country Specialist, Felicia Carter along with other senior technical officers, nurses, community health aides, and healthcare sector representatives.
This year’s activities are being held under the Pan American Health Organization’s (PAHO) theme: “Your Decision Makes a Difference.”
Throughout the week, several activities are planned to raise awareness and increase access to vaccinations:
- 29th–30th April: Education Seminar for Healthcare Workers
- 1st–2nd May: School Vaccination Days at various schools and clinics (8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
- 3rd May: Hospitality Worker Vaccination Day
