This will end the shortage created over the past week that resulted after the tanker which brings petroleum products was unable to land due to severe sea conditions.

Information minister Melford Nicholas said on Thursday that restaurants and hotels would get some relief after a short-term solution had been reached in which LPG would be imported from Guadeloupe.

WIOC has since indicated that residential customers will also get some relief when the first shipment arrives tomorrow.

For almost three weeks, adverse sea conditions have prevented oil tankers from landing in countries across the region.

Tourism has also been affected. This week, a cruise ship had to abandon its stop in Grenada as it could not be safely piloted into the harbour.
