The Ministry of Education wishes to clarify the recent publication of the names of teachers with uncollected checks at the Ministry.
The sole purpose of releasing the names was to efficiently and directly inform affected teachers that their checks are ready for collection, ensuring that the ongoing industrial action ends. Although the Ministry of Education has an internal mechanism to contact recipients, this process is sometimes slow and tedious; the publication of names was intended to complement this internal process.
The Ministry never intended to suggest that these checks had been left uncollected for an extended period or to cast any negative impression on the professionalism or diligence of our educators. Indeed, the Treasury delivered some of these checks to the Ministry of Education only on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Our goal has always been to support our teachers and facilitate their smooth return to the classroom, where they continue to do the important and passionate work they love.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or misunderstanding this may have caused. The Ministry deeply values the dedication and service of all educators, and we remain committed to continuing to work with A&BUT to resolve any outstanding matters swiftly and collaboratively.
