One of the largest social programmes of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda,
administered by the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries, the
2023 installment of the School Uniform Grant Programme (SUGP) commenced on
3 rd  July 2023 and will officially conclude on Thursday, 31 st  August 2023.
Figures were not immediately available on how many people have accessed the
programme so far this year, but it is believed that a large number of beneficiaries
capitalized on the offer of a regular school uniform per child.
For those who intend to but are yet to access the SUGP at the Multi-Purpose
Cultural and Exhibition Centre, Perry Bay, the organizers are reminding returning
beneficiaries to present the student’s most recent school report and one form of
identification (government-issued), while an acceptance letter from the school or
3 rd  term report, along with valid identification for the student and parent/guardian
must be presented to representatives of the SUGP, for new beneficiaries.
For students entering secondary schools through the Grade Six National
Assessment, the identification document for both student and parent/guardian used
during registration must be presented when completing the transaction.
The hours of operation this week will be 9 am-4 pm.
