Five people are in police custody, following a series of stop-and-search operations conducted across several communities on Tuesday 8 July.
Around 7:00 p.m., police arrested four male suspects, all residents of Villa, for unlawful possession of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition.
In a separate but related incident, a male resident of Ottos was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis.
All items, including the firearm, ammunition, and cannabis, were taken to police station as part of the ongoing investigations.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to intensify its efforts to rid the streets of illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics. These operations form part of the force’s broader strategy to enhance public safety and maintain law and order throughout the country.
