Tuesday 2nd October, 2018 –Recent rainfalls have done nothing for APUA’s water catchment facilities.

The company has announced all of the water being piped to consumers is through the desalination process.

Water Manager Ian Lewis on Talking Pointe this morning, revealed that the status remains the same for the reservoirs as it has been for quite some time.

For the last seven months, there has been no surface water at Potworks and for the last four to five months, none has been available from Bendals Valley, Mr. Lewis reported.

While new equipment were sourced for the six desalination plants to remain functional, they are still not producing the required amount of water to supply consumers on a daily basis.

A total of seven million gallons of water are required to supply consumers on a daily basis.
