The member of parliament for St. John’s Rural North, Charles Max Fernandez, says he is both very pleased and very impressed with the roadworks currently being done in the constituency, particularly the Mount Pleasant area.
MP Fernandez’s remarks came as he conducted a tour of the constituency on Tuesday to see the work that has been completed, the work that is being done currently and to point out areas of focus in the next round.
“I must say that I am very, very pleased and I am also very impressed with how fast they are working and how well they are working,” he observed. He added that in the Mount Pleasant area, for a long time there were no roads and prior to the pandemic some work had started in the area but which came to a stop with the onset of the pandemic.
However, he noted that a team from the Ministry of Works has been upgrading roads in the area, much to the satisfaction of resident in the community. He noted that with concrete being used as the material to construct the new roads, some residents who had other types of road construction, are now requesting to have concrete roads.
“That is an indication of how impressed the residents are about the new roads and in fact, some even came out of their homes while were we doing to tour to expressed their satisfaction with the state of the roads in the area,” he reported.
MP Fernandez is expressing his appreciation to the team at the Ministry of Public Works for the excellent job they are doing in the constituency and he has expressed thanks on behalf of the constituents as well as from members of his team.
