SJA and AGHS delegates emerge winners in the Mister and Miss Teenage Pageant, 2025

The delegates representing the St Joseph Academy and the Antigua Girls High School are the winners of the 2025 Mister and Miss Teenage Pageant, held at Carnival City on Saturday night.

Sponsored by the Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB), the pageant featured thirteen delegates, representing ten of the nation’s secondary schools under the theme, ‘Embracing the Rhythms of our Future’.

There were four judged segments; all of which were renamed from previous years; Rhythm of Self (personality and Aspiration), Rhythm of Minds (Interview), Rhythm of Talents (Performing Talent) and Rhythm of Elegance (Evening wear).

In the end, SJA’s delegate, William Christian emerged as Mr. Teenage 2025 after a captivating evening of competition. In addition to the title, Christian also took home awards for Best Interview and Best Personality and Aspiration.

In the female segment, Tekyra Richards of the Antigua Girls High School demonstrated that consistency truly pays off, earning her the title of Miss Teenage 2025. Richards also won Best Performing Talent, Best Personality and Aspiration, and the Leadership Award in the unjudged segment.

Among the males, Najah Monford of the Ottos Comprehensive School was named 1st Runner-Up, while Emari John of the Antigua Grammar School secured 2nd Runner-Up. Monford also won Best Performing Talent male and Best Formal wear.

The female winners’ circle was completed by N’Khira George of Clarehall Secondary who placed 1st runner-up, and Jahkeira Samuel of the Sir Novelle Richards Academy as 2nd Runner-Up.

As winners, Christian and Richards will receive a laptop and a printer each as well as $1,200.00 each compliments ECAB, a second laptop from Happy Kids, the Prime Minister’s Scholarship to UWI Five Islands Campus, and $2,500.00 each compliments of the Department of Creative Industries.

During the programme, the artist known as ‘The Soca Diva’ Claudette Peters-Joseph, was presented with a special token of appreciation in recognition of her 25th anniversary as a leading soca artist in Antigua and Barbuda. Minister of Creative Industries, Daryll Matthew made the presentation on behalf of the ministry and the government.
