Wednesday 26th June, 2019-The Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies has revealed there was no opposition to Antigua and Barbuda’s bid to establish the Five Islands Campus of UWI.
There were earlier reports that several governments with campuses in their countries were against the move. But Professor Sir Hilary Beckles clarified there was a request for more information.
Concerns are being expressed by a cross section of the public on whether the campus will truly be ready for a September opening. This was addressed by the Vice Chancellor.
According to Sir Hilary, the Five Islands Campus will begin with programs that are of priority to the country.
