Search for Johnathan Phillips Called Off
Monday 24th September, 2018-The Administrative Department of the Disaster Prevention, Attention and Recovery System (DAPARD) in Columbia, has confirmed they have called off the search for Antiguan Jonathan Phillips.
DAPARD says the search was called off after 8 days and Phillips has now been officially declared a missing person.
An official statement is being prepared by the organization.
Phillips went missing on September 15, after he was dragged by huge rush of water in the river Melcocho, in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Cocorná where he and several others including his aunt were swimming.
His aunt’s body was discovered but to date; despite extensive searches Phillips remain missing.
Reports are the LIAT employee’s mother has flown out to Columbia, where officials there will meet her and provide her with critical information relating to the search that was undertaken for her son.
