The 2023 School Uniforms Grant Programme (SUGP) commences on Monday,
July 3 rd and will continue until August 31 st .
Now in its 18th year, the distribution of vouchers under the programme will take
place at the Multi-Purpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre, Perry Bay, from
Monday to Thursday 9 am – 4 pm and every Friday from 9 am – 2 pm.
Supervisor, Tanesha McKenzie-James said the SUGP’s eligibility requirements
remain unchanged, but she is appealing to members of the general public to
remember the documentation needed for presentation when accessing the
programme. She noted that to be eligible, children must be 5 years old by
December 31, 2023, and will remain in the database until completion of 4th Form.
When visiting the Multi-Purpose Centre, returning beneficiaries must present the
student’s most recent school report and a form of identification (government-
issued), while an acceptance letter from the school or 3rd term report, along with
valid identification for the student and parent/guardian must be presented to
representatives of the SUGP.
Students entering secondary schools through the Grade Six National Assessment
cannot receive vouchers until after the release of the results on Friday, July 7,
2023.
This year, beneficiaries of the SUGP can use either the face-to-face or drop box
option, the latter will be available at the programme’s Perry Bay location.
A team of 40 customer service agents have completed training ahead of the launch
of this year’s programme.
