Road Simulation Exercise A Success
Monday 5th February, 2018 –The traffic department is declaring the 24 hour road simulation exercise that began last Friday a success.
The closure was to allow the Traffic Management Committee (TMC) to assess road user behavior before ground work begins in mid-February. A section of Friars Hill Road was closed to vehicular traffic during the 24 hour period.
Inspector Elson Quammie says following an assessment, he has determined the exercise did not reveal issues that will be cause for concern.
Asked if the traffic department has devised a plan to deal with what can potentially be a traffic nightmare for motorists once work begins, the head of the traffic department says a plan is in place, even though such an issue is not foreseen.
