Reward Increased For Information and Capture of Murder Accused
Tuesday, 27th February, 2018 – With no clue as to his whereabouts, police have increased the reward being offered for information that will lead to the capture of Delano Forbes.
More than two weeks since his escape from the company of police detectives, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda announced it is now offering EC $ 10,000 to any member of the public with credible information that can lead to his successful capture.
Forbes, who is considered extremely dangerous, has managed to evade police since he escaped custody on 12th February with shackles on his feet. Detectives at the time had escorted him to the village of Swetes as they investigated him for three murders he’s accused of committing and for which he faces charges.
Last weekend, police on the neighbouring island of Montserrat assured residents there that the murder accused was not in that jurisdiction. ZJB Radio reported that it received several phone calls Friday afternoon suggesting that Delano Forbes was spotted in the vicinity of Salem.
After not being able to reach the Royal Montserrat Police Service (RMPS) via telephone, ZJB Radio said its newsroom called the Police in Antigua who denied the report.
Subsequently, the Royal Montserrat Police Service stated its officers rushed to the scene and after conducting their investigations found that although the suspect fit the description of Delano Forbes, it was not him.
