Wednesday 5th September, 2018-Veteran lawyer Sir Gerald Watt fired back at the Bar on Wednesday less than 24 hours after he was rebuked for statements made relating to a recent High Court ruling that halted work on the international airport in Barbuda.
Appearing on Talking Point on Wednesday, Sir Gerald justified his criticism and said he has every right so to do.
The Queen’s Counsel noted that just as he has offered criticisms on occasions, he has also defended the courts.
Sir Gerald Watt slammed the Bar Council for being silent on matters of importance. He questioned how many times the Bar Council has come forth with ideas and constructive criticisms on important legislations taken to parliament. He says it is a question he plans to ask and also write them about.
