Prime Minister Commits to Assisting Nyabinghi Community
Monday 14th January, 2019-Prime Minister Gaston Browne on the weekend joined Rastafarians of the Nyabinghi Community for lunch and the members there are describing his visit as ‘Historic’.
In a statement, a Nyabinghi executive said the prime minister was greeted by the prayers and chants of the Nyabinghi Theocracy and joined the Community in an Ital Lunch.
Rastafari Elder RasFranki thanked the Prime Minister for his sincere and genuine apology to the Rastafari Community and presented him with a Red Gold and Green sash and a book on Leonard P. Howell, one of the first announcers of the Rastafari faith.
Prime Minister Browne re-iterated his commitment to redressing the marginalization and discrimination that has been inflicted on Rastafari over the years and pledged a donation of EC$10,000.00 towards the completion of the Nyabinghi Tabernacle at RasFreeman.
The Prime Minister also promised to fast forward ongoing works on the Rastafari Nyabinghi Theocracy School at Big Creek.
