The accused, 24-year-old Jahbal Grant of Parham and 29-year-old Kamory Miller of Hatton, are facing charges of Breaking and Larceny after allegedly unlawfully entering the business premises and stealing several cartons of cigarettes, a pack of Blunt, and two boxes of Raw rolling papers. They were further charged with Resisting Arrest and Battery on Police.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, April 20. Police responded promptly to a report of suspicious activity at the location and found both suspects hiding inside the supermarket. They were arrested and taken into custody.
Both men were expected to make their first appearance before the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to urge business owners to strengthen security measures and encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or by calling 911.
