Police Destroy Seized Cannabis
Wednesday 26th September, 2018-A large quantity of cannabis was destroyed today by police, during an exercise conducted at Burma.
A total of 1,110 pounds of the drug were burnt this morning.
The cannabis, seized during police raids and following magistrate court cases, was valued at more than E.C $ 2 million.
During such exercises, a pit is dug and pallets and tyres are used to light a fire that is fueled by diesel and or gasoline.
Today’s destruction of the more than 1000 pounds of cannabis is the second such exercise for the year. It was carried out in the presence of Officers attached to the Narcotics Division of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, the Chief Magistrate and members of the media.
