The Princess Margaret School dominated the annual Secondary School’s Theatre
Festival’s prize-giving ceremony, fashioned after the Academy Awards held in
Hollywood.
The event took place at the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute on
Sunday evening with attendees dressed for the occasion; ladies in stylish ankle
length dresses and the young men in suits for the awards show, seen as Antigua
and Barbuda’s version of the Academy Awards.
The annual Secondary School Theatre Festival saw schools competing in two
categories; dance and drama. The Princess Margaret School dominated in both
categories.
In the drama segment, the PMS won five of the sixteen categories outright and
shared the prize for the sixth. PMS play, Anybody’s baby won for best directing
alongside the Ottos Comprehensive School’s entry One-eyed God, an adaptation of
a play written by Trinidadian playwright, Anderson Labarie. Anybody’s baby was
written by the school’s principal, Dr. Colin Greene. He said the drama programme
