The awareness continues to grow as hundreds of persons of all ages gathered at the WIOC sports field last Saturday to participate in the 14th CIBC Annual Walk for the Cure, one of the Caribbean’s largest activities to raise both funds and awareness of cancer.

Prior to the start, one of the bank’s Walk for the Cure Managers, Natasha Charles, thanked the participants and sponsors for their continued support and stressed that in addition to raising awareness and support for persons battling cancer, it is also about raising funds to support the Breast Friends Organisation and the Oncology Department of the SLBMC.

“Last year we raised EC$105,000 which was donated to these two organisations so that they can have the resources to support and care for our cancer patients. With your support we hope to top that figure this year,” she said.

She added that the bank viewed the walk as an integral part of CIBC Caribbean’s continuing commitment to its community.
