One of two female Jamaicans who have been on the run from law enforcement for
over a week…is now back in custody.
Immigration sources have confirmed that, Tiffanie Stephanie Howell, 30, turned
herself in over the weekend. It was not immediately known whether or not she was
accompanied by an attorney when she surrounded.
Howell was denied entry when she presented herself to border security officials on
January 18, 2024, and was being held at the Detention Centre at the Immigration
Department headquarters when she escaped with compatriot, Donnalee Samantha
Salmon, on January 20, while they were being held for deportation.
Both have been able to elude law enforcement for more than a week until Howell
decided to end her life on the run and presented herself to the authorities.
The Immigration Department says it continues to be on the lookout for Salmon,
who remains on the run. She has been living in Antigua and Barbud prior to her
encounter with the law. Salmon was among three persons arrested and charged for
the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. She was handed over to the
Immigration Department for deportation when she along with Howell escaped
through a window at the department.
Last week, a Wanted Bulletin was issued for both women….Immigration officials
want the public to remain vigilant and to report any sightings as the second woman
continues to elude recapture.
