Two people appeared in the magistrate’s court on Wednesday jointly charged with the possession of ammunition.
Thirty-two-year old Steven Roberts aka Shuk Shuk and twenty-one year old Tashiba John, his live-in girlfriend, both of Jennings, appeared in the magistrate’s court, District B, to answer the charge of possessing two rounds of 9 mm ammunitions as well as a modified nail gun without having a licence to do so.
The court heard that the on Tuesday this week, the police executed a search warrant on Roberts to conduct a search of his premises for unlicenced firearms and ammunition.
During the search a room that both Roberts and John share, a black pistol holster was in the room that both along with the ammunition as well as the modified nail gun. Roberts admitted to the police that they were his and that he had found the items.
When questioned by the police, both Roberts and John admitted that they did not possess a firearm licence.
When they appeared before, Senior Magistrate, Ngaio Emanuel, Roberts pleaded guilty to the charge while the charges against John, who is pregnant, were withdrawn.
He is to return to court on Monday for sentencing.
