New Push to Preserve Betty’s Hope
Tuesday 2nd July, 2019-A new project is being undertaken to preserve the ruins of Betty’s Hope Estate.
The initiative will include the Ministry of Tourism and Investment, the Works Department, Archaeologist Dr. Reginald Murphy, Michelle Henry of the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda and other key personnel.
The first phase began last week as Darlene Lay, Product Development Officer, Heritage and Infrastructure explains.
Lay explains some of the work they are hoping to undertake including the repair of windmills and putting in place a crop garden.
They are depending on the government to fund the project and are predicting the majority of work is expected to be completed within a three-month period.
