The National Student Loan Programme (NSLP) is currently inviting applications
from students who wish to pursue post-secondary education or training.
The NSLP has issued a brochure indicating that applications are now being
accepted until the deadline of May 31, 2023. The scheme will accept applications
from students wishing to do tertiary level education, or who may wish to undertake
technical or vocational training.
Students wishing to apply, must complete the application form online, following
which they will be notified and invited for an interview. Each applicant must have
two sureties, both of whom must live and work in Antigua and Barbuda.
Since its inception, the NSLP has approved over nine hundred applications for
loans, dispensing a total of $25 million.
A spokesman said despite this, the scheme remains under-subscribed and there is
now a push to increase the number of persons making applications for student
loans.
The ceiling for loans is capped at $75,000.00.
