Mullin: Lessons Can Be Learnt From Trinidad Floods

Monday 22nd October, 2018-Flood waters in Trinidad and Tobago have begun to subside following at least two days of major downpours.

The flooding, the likes of which many have never seen before has caused possibly billions of dollars in damage to thousands of residential properties and businesses, many losing all of their possessions.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister has described it as a “national disaster.”

With many citizens and residents now in shelters and in need, the Director of the National Office of Disaster Services, Philmore Mullin says the Twin-Island Republic has not appealed for outside assistance.

Mr. Mullin was asked whether there are lessons that can be learnt from what has taken place in Trinidad and Tobago.

Director of NODS, Philmore Mullin.
