The Ministry of Works carried out road repair works on two main roadways in the City of St. John’s overnight.

An announcement from the ministry advised motorists and other road users to take caution as roadworks were being conducted on Independence Drive and Redcliffe Street on Monday night.

The work was to repair areas recently dug up by APUA as part of its programme as well as to begin preparing the road surfaces ahead of the annual Carnival festivities.

The notice asked motorists to exercise caution as heavy duty equipment were being used. Additionally, it asked motorists to adhere to detour signs as well as to follow the instruction of the ministry’s personnel.
