Maria Browne Lauds Youth as Independent Thinkers
Wednesday 14th March, 2018 – The Antigua/Barbuda Labour Party’s St. John’s Rural East Candidate is singling out the nation’s youth for being independent thinkers.
Maria Bird-Browne says the days spent campaigning in the constituency she hopes to represent in Parliament have revealed that the nation’s youth are holding their own in matters of interest to them, especially in the election process.
Mrs. Browne is one of the newest faces in the political arena this time around and will be one of two women running for public office on the ticket of the ABLP, the other being Samantha Marshall.
Mrs. Browne who is the wife of Prime Minister Gaston Browne says she is fostering meaningful relationships as she canvasses the constituency, familiarizing herself with the residents whose votes she is seeking.
Unemployment within St. John’s Rural East is of priority to Mrs. Browne, which she plans to tackle immediately after securing her seat.
Commenting on the new path she has chosen, the ABLP candidate is encouraging more women to step up and assume leadership roles in the country.
